The poll about your main art is not a fair question. Before I started escrima in the fall of 75, I studied Kenpo. While in the navy I learned Imua Tamaraw escrima-kuntaw, since then I learn Chung do kwan tkd, Hapkido, Tang soo do,and Okinawan kubudo. At the time I left the service there was nobody teaching escrima in my home town, I recieved Teacher status in Tkd and taught that for several years, I also became a teacher in Hapkido and Tang Soo Do. All the while a taught a little bit of the escrima with the korean arts. I later recieved my Black Belt in Kenpo and taught that for a few years. All this time I was searching for a style like my escrima style to no avail. I found many simular but not the exact same. I did a comparitive study on all the styles I have studied and found all of them had something in common with escrima. I went to many seminars Pekiti Tirsia, Doce Pares... but none was like Imua Tamaraw. The things that were common with Imua Tamaraw were concepts and principles, like the balance points, the footwork and angles of attack, centerline, to name a few. I have found even Wing Chun has things in common with escrima. So yes my style is Fma, but have practiced and learn sevferal other systems, for me the best is Imua Tamaraw Escrima-Kuntaw.
