<p>My name is Michael Redondo, born and raised in San Francisco, CA. When I was 23 I moved to Hawaii to go to college on the Island of Oahu and about a year later I moved to the island of Hawaii. It was on Big Island that I my schooling was coming to an end and I had to start finding a career in Administration of Justice. One of the last jobs that I applied for said that they would guarantee me a position with them. The career that I was offered was a very dangerous career and I thought I could use more training, than what I already had. I figured that the only thing that I did not know how to do was use my baton in an effective way, so I found Modern Arnis. My father was friends with Remy P. Presas Jr. for many years, I had knowledge of this but always thought that if FMA did not have a stick then they would be worthless. Little did I know that I was wrong. Because my father was good friends with Grand Master Presas Jr. I was able to take daily private lessons with him for two weeks. All I really wnated to train for was two weeks, because I figured that if I learned the basics I would be good enough for my job. And you know what I was good enough if not better than I thought I could be with such little time. But I did not want to quit studying Modern Arnis, I loved it and wished that I could have learned it when I was a child. There was so much to learn and it was very effective. I have trained in so many Martial Arts for so long, and I have never seen any martial art come close to what we do. Modern Arnis has no set techniques everything is at random and there are no finishing moves even though every move that we are taught will cripple or definitly submit our attacker. Instead modern arnis focuses on what if the first move does not work what will be the next TRANSITION and Transition after that transition and etc. Grand Master Presas taught me the History of Fma and Modern Arnis, this gave me more even more reasons to be a proud&nbsp; Filipino. And I have been Fascinated with Modern Arnis ever since, and still today I continue my study of Modern Arnis every single week. Finally, since Grand Master Presas Jr. introduced me to the world of FMA, I have the oppotunity to train with GM Presas friends: Master Armijo when ever we see eachother, Grand Master Fred Bandalan of Bandalan Doce Pares every other week, and Grand Master Vincent Cabales of Cabales Serrada Eskrima once a month.</p>
